Cloud-based solution integrates technology from NTT DATA, MDS Global, Openet and Sigma Systems
London, United Kingdom | 25 February 2019: Leading consulting and IT services provider, NTT DATA, after partnering with MDS Global Ltd, has today launched its ‘B2B In A Box’ solution – a new model to optimise how telecom operators and mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) sell their digital services and products to small-to-medium-sized business (SMB) customers – helping realise new revenue streams.
The new B2B solution will support a full range of productivity services including Office365, Amazon WorkDocs and Cisco Webex, as well as emerging IoT and entertainment services to SMB customers. The solution will also support the sale of core connectivity services including fixed line, fixed wireless and mobile.
The technology and process capabilities supporting B2B SMB sales is currently an underdeveloped and under-resourced segment in the telecoms sector. As a result, facility based operators and MVNOs are struggling to maximise revenues from their B2B operations – with slow time to market for new products and a lack of innovation in how SMB customers are served. The capabilities offered by the B2B In A Box solution open up a huge opportunity for operators and MVNOs to enter the SMB market aggressively and develop new revenue streams.
NTT DATA worked with Digital BSS vendor Openet, specialist B2B2X BSS provider MDS Global and Create-Sell-Deliver™ software company Sigma Systems to create the easy-to-deploy B2B In A Box solution – enabling operators and MVNOs to roll out more effective consumer-like, self-serve experiences to their SMB customers.
This cloud-based ‘pay as you grow’ commercial model uses proven technology to provide the core capabilities Commercial Directors need to optimise their B2B sales operations, including lower cost of sale and rapid time to operation. In addition, the solution provides simple and fast automated quoting and ordering of products through a data-driven product catalogue, online order management and control, billing and invoicing collections, as well as reporting and analytics visibility. The platform can also scale to accommodate the more complex sales and billing services required by larger businesses.
Laurence Norman, Chief Architect at NTT DATA UK, commented: “In order to support the ever-changing needs of SMB customers, telco’s are having to increase the agility and flexibility of their processes and systems, reduce time to market for new products and enable the bundling and customisation of their commercial offerings. “Add to this a backdrop of limited investment and pressures to show rapid ROI, and there is a clear market need for a complete solution that operators and MVNOs can deploy seamlessly. The B2B In A Box platform provides all of the capabilities critical to delivering services to the under-addressed SMB market.”
Gary Bunney, CEO at MDS Global commented: “B2B has historically not been served very well. Now with the introduction of IoT and 5G as additional opportunities, the lack of service efficiency and flexibility will hinder many service providers to grow. We believe there exists a significant demand amongst leading consumer MVNOs and MNOs to expand their offering and serve the high-growth and under-served SMB market.”
Tony Regan, VP Commercial Strategy at Openet added: “Across the board, SMB customers are looking for price competitiveness, converged technical offerings, simplicity of sales and excellence in service to overcome the specific challenges faced by the industry.
“The SMB market for telco services is growing strongly, unlike the corporate and public segments that are declining. However, SMBs’ needs have not been fully provided for until now. By providing digital engagement and enablement, the joint solution that has been created is essentially the answer to many of the issues that currently impact this market.”
Marc Hayden, Vice President of Global Alliances and Channels at Sigma added: “The B2B enterprise and SMB segments present an outstanding opportunity for service providers to inject growth into their businesses. As service providers continue to move outside of their core traditional network offerings, the B2B In A Box platform will be an excellent solution to capture the imagination of carriers and deliver new innovative offerings for the SMB marketplace.”
NTT DATA UK, Openet, MDS Global and Sigma Systems will be demonstrating the B2B In A Box solution at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 in Barcelona. To speak to a member of the team about this solution, visit the NTT stand in Hall 3 (Stand Number 3D31) at MWC.
